Note from the Chief

Wednesday April 20, 2011 12:35 PM EDT

THANK YOU!

Chief Bergamine and the Fayetteville Police Department would like to extend a special thanks to the tornado victims for their patience and cooperation during a very difficult and stressful time. Their cooperation was a key factor in the success of the initial response and the follow-up activities that have taken place over the last several days. With their cooperation, both Riley Road and Yadkin Road (expected to be open on 4/20/11) were open within four (4) days of the initial tornado strike, which is remarkable considering the magnitude of the devastation.

Chief Bergamine would also like to thank the “Fayetteville City Team” and all the individuals, groups and companies that assisted with the tornado response effort and those that continue to do so. This effort has truly been a Public / Private Sector - Team Effort.

Finally, Chief Bergamine would like to thank the men and women of the Fayetteville Police Department, both sworn and non-sworn, for the outstanding effort put forth during this time.

Thank You!
Tom Bergamine
Chief of Police
